The RUSH Construction Kit

The game of Rush consists of a set of rules, a 20 inch by 24 inch game board, a deck of 56 chance cards, three sheets of tokens, some money, a dish full of pills, six "money clips", six pawns and six "zonkometer" markers. You must supply the "money clips", dish and pills. You will also need at least two six sided dice. The kit supplies everything else.

In the kit you should find:

Al's original rush game used an ash tray for the dish and white Go pieces for the pills. I used a custard cup and half a package of Aquatic Gardens brand "Marbles for Pet and Aquarium use". They look like glass mancala stones. Use paper clips for the "money clips".

The six board segments are used to construct the game board. I trimmed them and stuck them together with scotch tape and mucilage. Then I had the board laminated at a local Kinko's.

The seven card sheets each contain eight Chance deck cards. Cut them out, trim them and use them as is. Laminating them only makes them stick together.

Starting each player at 6 on the "zonkometer" will make for a good game where each player will have about a 50% chance of being alive at the end. Starting at 0 makes it highly unlikely that anyone will reach the highest point on the "zonkometer".

You can construct your own RUSH game using this $30 RUSH Construction Kit.
